The devastating effects of fatherless homes

The issue of children raised without fathers or faced with the loss of a father in one’s life is huge. Donald Dutton, a domestic violence expert in the OJ trial points to research that shows that one of the most significant factors in young men becoming abusive towards women is the absence of the father in their lives. This author consistently observes that young males without their father in their lives are depressed, deprived of affirmation and self-confidence and experience an inner void of emptiness and pain. Aaron Hernandez’s life began to change subsequent to the untimely death of his father who, in good health, died from a medical error. He checked himself into a local hospital for a routine hernia operation. Something happened on the operating table and he died. Aaron as many young men in this situation began not to care anymore and his life went sideways. Parental alienation destroys a young male’s relationship with his father. Recent research in this area reveals that young boys grow up and are not gainfully employed or academically successful. The effects are devastating. They have no self-concept nor sense of who they are!
